Scheduled Rides
Here are the rides that we have scheduled for January & February 2010:

Location : Tunnel Gully, Upper Hutt
Date : Wednesday, 17th February 2010 6:30 pm
Ride type: Wednesday
Meet at Maymorn Hall. Drive up SH2 to Te Marua about 3 km north of Upper Hutt. Turn right at the dairy into Plateau Road and then right into Maymorn Road - after about 1.5km there is a rail overbridge - the Hall is on the right immediately after that.
Another chance to check out the tracks cleared last winter. There are plenty of easier 4WD tracks and some with some singletrack with technical challenges.
Location : Maungakotukutuku Valley, Paraparaumu
Date : Sunday, 21st February 2010 09:00 a.m.
Ride type: 3 - 5+ Duration: 4 hours
Head north on SH1. Just past Mackays Crossing turn right onto Waterfall Rd (This can be a dodgy turn. After a few kms, then turn right onto Valley Rd. We’ll be meeting by the Quad bike centre (about two km on the gravel).
For those of you who didn't do the Ak-Attack you've missed out on some newly discovered singletrack. Without the map, you'd never find it - so here's your chance. We'll probably descend back to the cars on the 3 Sisters singletrack too!

Location : Eastern Hills, Wainuiomata

Meet: Parkway, Wainuiomata - Drive over the Wainuiomata Hill, turn left at the first roundabout and park in the first available space
The ride usually encompasses a climb to the pylon on the ridge on the new MTB tracks, then heads south towards Eastbourne and descend on singletrack. We'll see how those new tracks are coming along!
Location : Stratton Street, Belmont Regional Park

Park at the end of Stratton Street - Coming from Wellington on SH2 turn left at the second set of lights (the Maungaraki turnoff) stay on the main road which is Dowse Drive until about 500m past the top of the hill, then turn left into Stratton Street at the Church. Follow Stratton Street down hill to your left - we meet at the carpark right at the end which is about 3 km away
This ride is part of the Mountain Bike Festival so starts at the earlier time of 6:00 p.m. The actual route depends on how many are there for the event but Belmont Trig, Danzig, Dress circle are possibilities
Location : Karapoti Gorge

Meet at the carpark at the road end in Karapoti Gorge.
If you missed the Karapoti, we’ll start by heading up the gorge and regrouping at the clearing, then we have the option of the Karapoti Epic, Dopey Bull or Baby Pram
Location : Colonial Knob, Porirua

We’ll head up the 4WD track to the top of colonial knob and find a better way down
