An explore of the Wainuiomata Trail Park MTB tracks, including the Jungles set. If the mood is right and the weather is good we might then do Mt Lowry, but otherwise continue with WTP and some combination of Labyrinth, Towai Traverse, Freewheel, Spoonhill, 491, Snails, and the Bee line.

Location : Smith's Creek

Date : Sunday, 4th March 9:00 am - late, so bring your lunch!

Ride type: Sunday

Head north on SH2 from Upper Hutt over the Kaitoke Hill. Cross the bridge after passing the Kaitoke Waterworks turnoff and turn left into Marchant Road. Continue on Marchant Road until you reach Kiwi Ranch Road on the right. Follow Kiwi Ranch Road until you reach a car park just before the YMCA camp.

Another chance to give Steve an enjoyable ride out in Miramar. Depending on the weather and how Graeme feels on the night, we might head south (but also hopefully a loop or two of Conviction, Jailbrake, Repeat Offender).

BBQ postponed! Unfortunately the rubbish weather means that we're postponing John's special BBQ tonight. People can still pop around to John's place after the ride if they want.

Location : Colonial Knob, Porirua

Date : Wednesday, 14th March 6:30 pm

Ride type: Wednesday

Meet: at the ANZ building, Hagley St in central Porirua.

Meet at the end of Bulls Run Road Judgeford, between Upper Hutt and Porirua. Turn off SH58 onto Moonshine Road then after 5kms or so, turn left into Bulls Run Road and continue until the road turns to gravel. Park on the road-side.

Affectionately known as the "Puketiro Push", this is a jungle ride into the area behind Battle Hill. You can expect some big hills and a bit of bike pushing and probably some tracks that are overgrown. This time we will try again to climb on the 4WD track to Puketiro and head into the motocross tracks. Then we'll come back on the jungle tracks and finish with a steep descent through the pines.

Location : Karori Cemetery and Skyline from Ian Galloway Park

Date : Wednesday 21st March 6:30 pm

Ride type: Sunday

Meet at the Ian Galloway park, off Curtis St and opposite the school.

We'll head up to Skyline via Karori cemetery, then potter back via some other way.

Location : Tunnel Gully + K-flow, Upper Hutt

Date : Wednesday, 28th March 6:30 pm

Ride type: Wednesday

Meet at Maymorn Hall. Drive up SH2 to Te Marua about 3 km north of Upper Hutt. Turn right at the dairy into Plateau Road and then right into Maymorn Road - after about 1.5km there is a rail overbridge - the Hall is on the right immediately after that.

There are plenty of easier 4WD tracks and some with some singletrack with technical challenges.
